As a new feature of our B’notai Mitzvah program, we now offer our families a "Congregational Kiddush Rental" free of charge.
The basic features are as follows. Please contact the Temple with any questions or to book an event.
- All families celebrating a B’notai Mitzvah will be offered free use of our Social Hall until 2:30 pm.
- The partnering families must either host the event together or one may pay for a separate space. There will not be two separate free rentals.
- All congregants in attendance must be welcomed to attend.
- The Congregational Kiddush Rental includes use of the space only. Food, beverages, paper goods, dishware, utensils, decorations, staff, or any other elements of the event are the responsibilities of the hosting families.
- If you would like to host a longer sit-down meal that is available at the regular rental rates for the space.
What Temple Shalom Provides:
- Use of the Social Hall until 2:30 pm after your service.
- Tables and chairs set in the same configuration as our Friday night Oneg.
What Members Provide:
- Coordination of all food and beverages, including ordering, delivery/drop-off, and payment. Temple Shalom does not offer catering services.
- Food Servers (often available through caterers). Temple Shalom staff are not available to help plate, serve or clean up food.
- Paper and plastic products (plates, utensils, cups, napkins, serving platters).
- Clean up:
Cleaning of tables and disposal of dishes (Temple staff will put away the tables and chairs).
Kitchen, if used, must be cleaned; this includes taking any leftover food with you.
Important Notes:
- The Temple Shalom social hall comfortably seats 140 people. More people than that, seated, will feel crowded. The maximum number of seats possible is 180. If your party is larger than 180 people, tables will be removed for a standing-only section.
- You may not serve, nor bring onto Temple’s premises, any pork or shellfish products or other foods that are not deemed Kosher by Temple’s clergy.
- The start and end times as stated on your contract are the hours you can access the building. You should consider both set-up and clean-up time when planning your event. You will have access to the room for a maximum of 4 hours. That includes a Kiddush for 60-90 minutes, with extra time for you to decorate and clean. If you feel you need additional time we can extend the contract time for $200/hour.
- If a caterer and/or any other vendor will be present, we will need a copy of each vendor’s Certificate of Liability Insurance 14 days prior to your event.
If you would like to book an event or if you have any questions, please contact Suzy Burstein, our Member Relations Administrator
