Antiracism Task Force

Help Temple Shalom Become Antiracist

Temple Shalom has embarked on a journey to become an antiracist congregation.  The Temple Shalom Antiracism Task Force kicked off on Yom Kippur 2020 with a powerful sermon by Rabbi Ackerman and a workshop attended by over 300 congregants. Since then, the task force continues to hold learning sessions and provide resources to help all of us learn how to interrupt and dismantle racist beliefs, practices, and policies in Temple Shalom and the larger community.

Temple Shalom has taken the next step on this journey by retaining, Deitra Reiser (equity, diversity, inclusion & belonging consultant on Jewish spaces) to help guide us through her Building Racial Stamina curriculum and help is review our community to recommend our next steps to institutionalize antiracism into our culture and systems.
