Shabbat Morning Services (Saturday mornings)

Every Shabbat Morning at 10:00 AM - Shabbat Morning Worship and Study
A fairly brief Shabbat morning service (including a reading from the Torah scroll), followed by in-depth Torah study, intimate prayer, and informal congeniality. Meets in the Chapel.  Our Senior Rabbi John Franken, Associate Rabbi Rachel Ackerman, Cantor Lisa Levine, Rabbi and congregant Johanna Potts, or lay scholars lead the service and study each week to share scholarly insights and participate with us weekly in a lively discussion on our most fundamental sacred text.  This service and study typically ends at noon, and is informal, with many during the summer in shorts.

B’Nai Mitzvah Shabbat Morning Service at 10:00 AM
Held in the Sanctuary on most Saturday mornings, this is the service at which the youth of our congregation step into their roles as "teachers of Torah, leaders of prayer."  Temple Shalom prides itself that our Bar or Bat Mitzvah does not merely participate in the service, but truly leads the service from start to finish.   This service reflects our pride in our students, and their commitment to continue their Jewish education represents, in turn, the best hope for the next generation of Jewish adults.  All are welcome to attend these services, which end at noon when there is one Bar or Bat Mitzvah, and at 12:30 p.m. when it is a double.   Temple Shalom has a B’Nai Mitzvah service most weeks from March through June and September through December.  (Check the calendar)
