Professor Eric Cline to discuss his book, 1177 BC–The Year Civilization Collapsed

March 11, 9:30 AM in the Social Hall

The Book Club, The Brotherhood and The Sisterhood are proud to present Temple member Professor Eric Cline to discuss his book, 1177 BC--The Year Civilization Collapsed.

This book tells the gripping story of the decline of Egypt at the end of the Bronze age due to invasion, revolt, earthquakes, drought and the cutting of international trade routes. Bringing to life the vibrant world of ancient Egypt and other ancient civilizations, Professor Cline draws a sweeping panorama of the empires and their dramatic collapse, which led to a dark age that lasted centuries.

We are very excited that Professor Eric Cline, who is a member of Temple Shalom, has agreed to give a talk on his book and to be available for questions and discussion after his presentation.

This presentation is open to all Temple members and their guests. A light breakfast of bagels and fruit will be available. We will be requesting a $5 donation at the door.

For those who wish to read the book, it is available in paperback at Politics and Prose and Amazon.

Please RSVP to Janice Zalen at or 301-924-1685.
