Chavurahs or Friendship Circles

Are you new to our Temple Community? Have you been a member for a while but have not found a community that fits your needs?

If this describes you, the Temple has a program just for you.  Chavurahs or Friendship Circles may be your answer.  A chavurah (חבורה Hebrew: "fellowship") is a small group of like-minded Jews who assemble for the purposes of sharing communal experiences such as lifecycle events, Jewish holidays, or simply fostering fellowship and community.

This program helps bring together people who have similar interests (e.g. wine tasting, tennis, politics) or similar in location (e.g. Silver Spring, Takoma Park) or those who wish to start something new. It’s a way to continue the connections once you leave the Temple Shalom building.

All are welcome, single, married, and divorced. We have a request for a group to form of empty nesters. If you are interested or have questions, please let Karen Safer know by sending an email to karen.safer@gmail.com or calling 240-418-7032.
